Engineering leadership and infrastructure

An experienced engineer on your side of the table

For founders without a technical co-founder, and for teams whose system grew faster than its foundations: architecture you can build on, vendors you can check, infrastructure that doesn't need a babysitter.

Start with an auditPackages and prices

When it's time

Five moments people call us

Before you sign an agency

Their estimate looks fine. You have no way to tell if it is.

When the agency leaves

The code works, mostly. Nobody on your side knows how, or what it costs to change.

When every change got expensive

Each new feature breaks two old ones, and the team is afraid to deploy on Fridays.

When the first big client arrives

Their security questionnaire asks things nobody has answers to yet.

Before you buy or partner

The demo is impressive. You want to know what's behind it before you sign.

A Routine Run routine

Before you hire an agency

Five questions to ask before you sign. Write the answers down.

  1. 1

Who owns the code and accounts?

Yours from the first commit, in your name.

  2. 2

    A fixed price per milestone?

And what counts as done for each one.

  3. 3

    How do you test?

Ask to see a test run, not a slide.

  4. 4

    What happens when you leave?

A handover doc a new engineer can start from.

  5. 5

    A client I can call

Not a logo. A person with a phone number.

Stack and expertise

15+ years of backend, now AI engineering

AI is only as reliable as the backend and infrastructure under it. Everything below has been shipped to production, and the line under each group says where.

AI and agents

  • LangGraph agents and multi-agent pipelines
  • MCP servers and connectors
  • Evals: golden sets, test personas, LLM-as-judge checked against people
  • Tracing and observability in LangSmith
  • Model routing across OpenAI, Anthropic, Google through OpenRouter
  • Structured outputs and tool calling
  • Retrieval on pgvector
  • Prompt-injection defences
  • Apple's on-device model and Private Cloud Compute

Shipped at Structed, Routine Run

Apple platforms

  • Swift and SwiftUI
  • App Intents, Siri, Shortcuts, the Action button
  • Apple Watch apps and complications
  • Live Activities and widgets
  • App Clips
  • App Attest and APNs push

Shipped at Routine Run

Backend

  • TypeScript and Node.js, NestJS
  • Python and FastAPI
  • PostgreSQL
  • APIs, webhooks, OAuth 2.1
  • Payments with Stripe
  • Streaming over SSE
  • Angular and React front ends

Shipped at Structed, Routine Run, BigPanda

Infrastructure

  • AWS and Cloudflare Workers
  • Docker, Kubernetes, Argo CD
  • Deploys without downtime
  • CI with tests and AI code review
  • Sentry, logs and traces, alerts to the team
  • Backups that get restored, not just taken

Fixed price, agreed before we start

Architecture and code audit

What you have, what breaks first, and what to fix in which order. We read the code, the infrastructure and the bills, and talk to whoever built it.

  • A written report with a fixed price for each fix
  • A one-hour walkthrough with you and your team
Fixed pricefrom $4,800
5 days to 3 weeks

Technical and AI due diligence

Before you buy a company, sign a large vendor or partner with a startup: what is really behind the product. Code, architecture, security, cost to run, who it depends on, and whether the AI does what the deck says.

  • A red-flag review in 5 business days from $5,000; a full review from $12,000
  • Findings ranked by what they would cost you to fix
Fixed pricefrom $5,000
Monthly, 3 months at a time

Technical partner for founders

An experienced engineer on your side of the table: architecture decisions, which vendor or agency to hire and how to check their work, the roadmap, and the questions to ask before you sign.

  • A weekly call and same-day answers in your chat
  • Reviews of every proposal, estimate and pull request that matters
Fixed pricefrom $6,000 a month
2 to 4 weeks

Take over from an outsourced team

When an agency built the base and you need it back in your hands: an audit, a handover, tests where there were none, deploys you control, and a plan to keep or replace each part.

  • Every account and key moved to your name
  • Docs a new engineer can start from on day one
Fixed pricefrom $8,000
1 to 2 weeks

AI coding agents set up for your repository

Claude Code, Codex or Copilot working from your repository's own instructions and skills, with AI code review on every pull request and tests that catch what the agent gets wrong. How Structed's engineering shipped 1,400+ tests with one engineer.

  • Instructions and skills written for your codebase
  • AI review and tests in CI, and a session with your team
Fixed pricefrom $3,500
2 to 3 weeks

Infrastructure that runs without a babysitter

Deploys without downtime, monitoring and alerts that reach the right person, backups you have restored at least once, and a cloud bill you can explain line by line.

  • Errors, logs and traces in one place
  • A security pass before anyone else looks
Fixed pricefrom $6,500
After launch: infrastructure care from $1,200 a month

Proof

Done before, on systems with real stakes

15+ years of production software, and two products of our own run the way we would run yours.
  • Structed: audited the base an outsourced team had built, ended the outsourcing and took over all engineering. Deploys without downtime and a security pass followed.
  • Structed: Sentry, logs and LangSmith traces across the stack, with alerts to the team's chat, and any model through one router.
  • Routine Run: a relay on Cloudflare Workers that carries events to the phone and keeps no event bodies, with device checks written by hand and no third-party code on the server.
  • Before AI: checkout at Autodesk for a product with 7M+ users, AI incident tooling at BigPanda for enterprise on-call teams, and the frontend of Groupon's merchant booking platform.

Questions

What people ask before they start

Is this like having a technical co-founder?

It covers the work: technical decisions, vendor and hiring checks, a roadmap, and someone accountable for the architecture. Without equity or a title. We sell it as a fixed scope three months at a time, so you always know what you're paying for and can stop.

Which stacks?

TypeScript and Node, Python, Swift, Postgres, Docker, AWS and Cloudflare, plus AI stacks: LangGraph, LangSmith, OpenRouter, MCP. If yours is something else, the audit says honestly whether we are the right people.

What does an AI due diligence check that a normal one misses?

Whether the AI is a real system or a demo: what runs on which model, what it costs per user, how it is evaluated, what happens when the model provider changes, and whether the results in the deck can be reproduced on fresh cases.

Can you work with our existing team?

Yes, and usually that is the point: your team keeps building, and we make the calls that are expensive to get wrong, review the work, and set up what lets them ship safely.
